5 reasons to use FormAssembly instead of Salesforce’s Web-to-Lead form

We regularly hear from customers who need to email a web form to a number of people, with some custom pre-filled data. For instance, they would ask contacts to update some information they have on file, or perhaps they are following up with a lead to gather more information. Another example would be to send a satisfaction survey after closing a support request. Of course they also need to be able to update their records once the new data is received.
In this post, I’d like to show how you can accomplish this with FormAssembly and Salesforce. Salesforce holds the data we want to show and update. Salesforce also provides the email and mail-merge feature we’ll need.
The Salesforce Form Import Tool is a great way to quickly create a Salesforce-integrated web form using a Salesforce object as a template. Need a quick form for some data-entry? Need a web-to-lead form in less time than it takes to navigate to Salesforce’s own default web-to-lead setup screen?
This tool will let you pick any Salesforce object, including custom objects, and select which fields you’d like to see in your form. The form will be created as you go and will be ready to use as soon as you click ’save’.

Earlier this evening we identified an issue with file attachments for a small number of users. Between 3pm and 11pm EST (21:00 – 05:00 GMT) affected users were not able to receive files submitted with their forms. The response report would show the submitted data, but any attached file would be missing. Unfortunately these files were not stored and cannot be recovered.
At this time we believe that only 17 customers were affected. We will be contacting them directly to apologize for the incident and help them obtain the complete responses from their respondents.
Throughout June we have continued to make enhancements including finalizing several features within FormAssembly.
Restrict Form Availability With Response Quota
We’ve redesigned the ‘Display and Processing Options’ tab to add another way to control your form availability. It is now possible to restrict the number of responses you’re willing to receive. Once the response quota has been fulfilled, an error message will be displayed to the visitor and they will not be able to submit additional responses. You can of course customize the error message as needed. Use for instance to handle registration for an event with limited seating or for selling raffle tickets.
We’re happy to announce that after a thorough review, TRUSTe has certified FormAssembly’s privacy practices for the Google Apps Marketplace.
This is particularly important for our customers who use our Google Spreadsheet and Google Sites integration, and for any Google Apps user looking to replace Google Forms with a more powerful web form solution.
