We have used the Conditional Sections in order to show a sub-question only when a main question was answered with yes (or depending on the requirement set for the onstate). However, my concern now is, is it possible to make the sub-question a required field when it is on its onstate? (meaning that when the subquestion is showing up, it is mandatory to answer it, otherwise the form will not submit)
In the formbuilder interface, select the option 'Answer Required' for the subfield you wish to make required. I'm assuming you already have the conditional defined?
No, we havent set it up yet on the new form although we have used the switch/case or conditional form before. Will try your suggestion and see if it works. Thanks so much!
I've tried this and it does not work -- the red star will appear to the conditional question, however, it is perfectly possible for the person to still ignore the question (and they do) which is frustrating. I'm assuming this is so because otherwise the form would tell someone that there is a question they still need to answer even if they can't see it (i.e. they did NOT answer a certain question whichever way triggers a conditional one). Is there a workaround?
It should work as expected. A question marked as required and placed inside a conditional section will be checked only if the section is visible. Can you point me to your form, or open a support request, so we can investigate why it doesn't work for you?
