Just had a situation come up that I figured would be useful enough to warrant posting as a suggestion; Adding conditional logic around fields being submitted to SFDC. The easiest way would be to let the SFDC Connector have access to the full formula engine (http://www3.formassembly.com/blog/support-documentation/managing-your-forms/using-formulas/) instead of just the "Form Calculation" subset.

My case is that I have some "hard coded" values that I want to set on SFDC if a field has been populated. Specifically I have a field that collects the "Primary Funder" and if a value is submitted I want to set a drop-down on SFDC as "Primary Funder.

You could do it on the Salesforce side by creating a workflow that sets the drop-down field if your collection field has a value.
