Hello, I am interested in creating a form for a supply room inventory. In the room there are a series of sealed (normally) bins. When the room is inventoried, the status of the seal is checked, and ONLY if the bin is unsealed then the contents are inventoried. So, essentially, I created a Section for the bin, and then a group of items in the bin that is conditional on a question of "Is the bin sealed". This works perfectly. Now I want to do the same thing for 15 more bins, each of which has slightly differnet items. It makes the most sense to "copy" the entire section and just change the field names for the bin items. I thought I could do this with a "predefined content" item, but despite saying the item is saved, it is not showing up in my content list.
Also - along these same lines, is there a way to duplicate a field and then just edit the name of the field when adding multiple similar fields? For instance, lets say I have 6 different items and I want a field for the quantity of each item, and I want the field to know it should be a number, that it is required, and then the value should be between 1 and 20 for all of the items. If I "copy" the field - it won't let me edit the copies to change the item names. If I have to re-create each one, then I have 4 or 5 preferences to set each time - which is very time consuming compared to copying and just changing the field label. Is there a way to "duplicate" and then edit the duplicate?
To expand a bit more, when I try and copy a field, it does copy the field, but only lets me edit the name of the original field. Editing that original name does not update the copy or copies and I am unable to edit any other properties of the copies either. It is unclear if updating the properties of the original field would update the copies because I can't select the copies to view the proerties. I initially thought this was intended behavior (similar to Adobe's "copy" which creates an exact copy so if the field is edited in one place it edits the copy as well) but if the updating of the original doesn't update the copies, then I can't believe this is intended. Also, the only field you can delete after copying is the the original one - then, after deleting the original, you are able to edit the copy (or the topmost one if you have done multiple copies).
I am able to copy the Section, and then edit the names of all of the fields in the section, but I can't edit the name of the section. I tried just creating a new section and dragging all of the fields into the new section, which works, but then I can't delete the "copied" section. It just shows up as an empty section. I also can't re-order the section to the top of the page and get rid of it, and If I try to select the section, it actually selects the original (not the copy) and when I try to delete it, it deletes the original section that still has all the fields in it. Of interest, after doing this the Undo button also would not work to restore the form.
